We can confirm today that Fernandy Mendy has been released from his contract with Alloa Athletic.
Fernandy returned to Scotland at the end of July to sign for the Wasps, making 20 appearances in the process. Mendy’s story was shone via the media spotlight in this year’s African Cup of Nations after being called up for Guinea-Bissau but he was only an unused substitute for the group stage exit as Guinea-Bissau lost out to eventual runners-up Egypt and more populous Nigeria.
Fernandy will now return to France after making the decision based on what was best for his family.
Bonne chance Fernandy.
