    Wasps score five

    Thursday, July 21, 2011 4:28:22 AM

Last night "The Wasps" played their last pre season friendly against an Aberdeen Under 19 side at Recreation Park, the game turning out to be a seven goal thriller with Paul Hartley watching his new team score five goals in a fast moving game which produced some excellent passing football in a game the home side could have added to their tally with Kevin Cawley striking the post late on, however it was good for the strikers to get on the scoresheet - Max Wright scored twice, Ryan Caddis and Armand One scored their 1st goals for the club, while the fourth goal was scored by a 2nd half trialist. On a good evening for "The Wasps" manager Paul Hartley prior to the match strenghened his squad by the signing of Stirling Smith who has recently been playing as a trialist left sided defender, 20 year old Stirling started his career with Aberdeen and last season had loan spells with both Dumbarton & Peterhead. Also joining the club is Peter Innes, a holding midfielder, who joins the club from Motherwell, a former Scotland youth player, now aged 20, Peter was on loan to promotion winning side Albion Rovers last season from September, 2010 until May, 2011.
