    Saturday, July 16, 2011 5:37:25 PM

Today "The Wasps" faced a Dumbarton side which included four ex Alloa players - Jamie Ewings, Bryan Prunty, Mark Gilhaney & Scott Agnew and they certainly were out to impress for their new boss, Alan Adamson. Alloa Athletic started the game with - 1. Scott Bain, 2. Michael Doyle, 3. Mark Docherty, 4. Ben Gordon, 5. Ryan Harding, 6. Darren Young, 7. Ross McCord, 8. Ryan McCord, 9. Armand One, 10. Graeme Holmes & 11. Kevin Cawley, In the second period Paul Hartley introduced - Ryan Caddis, Mark McCullagh, Max Wright, Nicky Locke, Alan Ramsay, Craig McDowall and Trialist Stirling Smith.

Dumbarton took the lead in the 12th minute when their "Trialist" No. 11 ran on to a through ball and netted past Scott Bain, although the home side had chances Dumbarton had the best of the first period. In the 1st minute of the second half Graeme Holmes was brought down by Martin McBride but Darren Young's penalty sailed high over the bar, a great chance to get back into the game wasted, a minute later it was 2-0 when again the "trialist" No. 11 scored a very good goal. How games and results change in chances taken, Alloa pushed forward and scored a late goal through new signing Craig Campbell, who was delighted to get his first goal since joining the club.
