    Saturday, June 19, 2010 5:14:25 PM

Allan Maitland today further strengthened his squad by signing Stephen Robertson & Kevin McDonald from Airdrie United after the pair had agreed pre contract deals. Michael Dunlop has joined the club from Dumbarton having picked up “Player of the year awards” at the end of last season. “The Wasps” who went so close to automatic promotion as Champions last season, only losing out on goal difference to Stirling Albion on the final day of the season, are looking to go one better this season having suffered at the end of last season, Allan Maitland is aiming to be challenging again in the new season and confirmed the clubs commitment to going for promotion with the signing of three more players today – Darren Smith from Raith Rovers, possibly the best part-time footballer at present in Scottish League, Jim Lister from Bathgate Thistle a prolific scorer of 38 goals last season and a target for many other clubs in Scotland. Also joining is Jamie Ewings from Albion Rovers, a 25 year old goalkeeper who has European football experience having played for Drogheda United in the UEFA Cup against Dynamo Kiev in 2008 to further strengthen the squad. The manager will still continue to look to add to the squad before the season officially kicks-off, Hugh Kerr has been invited back to join the squad in pre season and may secure an extension of his contract which is currently expired.
