Alloa Athletic manager Allan Maitland has again been a busy man in the transfer market today, trying to strengthen the squad of players for next season before he goes off on holiday for a fortnight on Sunday. The club have today signed goalkeeper David Crawford from Queen’s Park, in games against “The Wasps” at Hampden Park David was outstanding last season, gaining him sponsors “Man of the Match” in their 1-0 victory on 27th September, 2008. David signed for “The Spiders” in October, 2003, before moving to Dumbarton in September, 2007, before returning to Hampden Park for the start of last season, David made over 130 appearances for Queen’s Park before his move to Recreation Park, avoiding a drop to Third Division football. Also Alloa Athletic have agreed with Ayr United for Scott Agnew to return to Recreation Park at the start of next season on a loan deal, Scott left Alloa at the start of last season to move to Ayr United but Scott has been disappointed at the lack of first team football he has gained since the move. A date has been agreed for Alloa athletic’s Stirlingshire Cup tie against Stenhousemuir, which will be played at Recreation Park on Tuesday 14th July, 2009.
