Manager Jim Goodwin tonight added striker Ross Stewart on an emergency transfer loan from St. Mirren for the next 28 days until 17th January, 2018 with the view to extending the deal on a standard loan transfer deal until the end of the season. Twenty one year old Ross, was top goalscorer with Albion Rovers last season scoring 12 goals, including one against "The Wasps" in a 1-1 at Coatbridge on 28th January, 2017 before joining St. Mirren on a full-time contract in the close season.

Alloa manager Jim Goodwin said "Ross is a player I admired during his time at Albion Rovers last year and he is one we approached in the summer about the possibility of coming to Alloa. He opted to go full-time with St. Mirren which is totally understandable for any young player to want to do. We are delighted to offer Ross the opportunity to play regular first team football and he will add to the already good options we have in the forward areas. He is a versatile player and can play anywhere along the front line. We wish him well and are sure he will settle in quickly to what is a fantastic dressing room."
