    Jim Goodwin previews Hibs game

Good afternoon and welcome along to the Indodrill for the final fixture of our Bet Fred group games against a very good Hibs team. Of course as always we welcome our opposition’s staff, players and supporters and wish them well in their upcoming league campaign in the Premier League. Neil Lennon has done a great job since taking over and will no doubt be looking for his team to carry on their good form from last season into the new campaign that lies ahead. We know how difficult the game is going to be today and are aware we will have to be at our best to ensure a positive result.

The Betfred has been extremely disappointing from our own point of view and we don’t feel as if we  have given a good enough account of ourselves over the last couple of weeks. We always knew how difficult the group was going to be when we saw ourselves been drawn with two Premiership teams in Ross County and Hibsbut I still felt we had enough to potentially cause an upset and pick up enough points to give ourselves a fighting chance. That hasn’t been the case and it has certainly given us some things to work on and discuss as a group. Sometimes it is good that mistakes are highlighted now at this stage of the season so that we can work on the training ground to eradicate them in time for the league campaign. I make no apologies for saying the league is our priority but we are aware of the financial boost a good cup run can give to the club and unfortunately this cup run hasn't been good enough!

We need to give our all today to finish the Betfredwith a positive result and take confidence from this game into next week in our opening League fixture against Raith Rovers. I hope you all turn out in good numbers and bring a friend along too to get behind the boys. Your support as always is greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the game and thanks again.

    Jim.
