    Manager releases five

    Tuesday, May 23, 2017 2:36:11 PM

Manager Jim Goodwin last night began one of the most difficult jobs of any manager, the difficult decision of letting players go, a thankless task of releasing players to allow the rebuilding begin towards moving forward again next season. The manager once again wanted to put on record his thanks to all the players for their efforts and commitment in reaching the Play-Off Final and so nearly achieving our goal of promotion; “They gave me everything in the club’s quest to achieve our aim, cruelly losing out on the final day to the lottery of penalties”.

“At this stage I have still some players to speak to, but leaving the club will be Jason Marr, Graeme Holmes, Jamie Longworth, Scott Hynd and Lewis Wilson, who I wish to thank for their efforts to the club in the past.  I hope to keep the nucleus of the squad and retain as many as possible and have offered contracts and now wait to see if they accept the offer.”

“I will be looking to add further to the squad, and have already identified signing targets, but I think it is important to tie up the core of quality players we already have at the football club, and so that is something that will take priority. As soon as it is possible I will keep supporters up to date with all signing news over the next few weeks.”
