    Stenhousemuir Preview

    Friday, November 04, 2016 7:42:07 PM

I would like to start by welcoming Brown Ferguson, his staff and the Stenhousemuir fans to this afternoon’s game. They will be coming here high on confidence off the back of a very convincing win away to Queens Park last week. We have prepared well as always and are expecting another very difficult game this afternoon.

With regards to our game against Albion Rovers, we were all very disappointed not to have picked up all three points of course, but I felt some of the football on display, particularly in the first half was some of the best we have played at home all season. All that was lacking was that little bit of luck in front of goal. We had a number of opportunities throughout the game to get off the mark but unfortunately we were unable to convert, and a lot of credit must go to Albion Rovers for how well they defended throughout the afternoon. Let’s not forget they went to Livingston a few weeks ago and won 2-1!

It felt like a defeat in the dressing room afterwards because of how much we dominated and I think that shows the standards and expectations of the group we have. We will never be satisfied with a point at home to any team and we will always try and push for the win, which I think was evident by the amount of numbers we were committing forward in the dying minutes. Overall I thought the performance was very good and the fact that we kept another clean sheet was pleasing too.

We have four games away from home after today so for most of you it will be the last chance for a while to get behind the team and encourage the lads to get back to winning ways. To those of you who travel with us on the road without fail, it is important you know that we are aware of the sacrifices you make and are very appreciative of the support you give us away from home.

Please continue to get behind the team and encourage the lads to put on another good performance today.

    Regards,

    Jim.
