Manager Danny Lennon today signed Michael Doyle after the player has now started on his road back to first team football. Michael has been training with us for a number of weeks. We have helped him in his rehabilitation from surgery that he had done at the end of the summer. We know the qualities he has, having made 161 appearances in an Alloa shirt, helping the club move from the fourth tier to the second tier of Scottish football in the last four seasons. We were keen for him to sign at the end of last season, having made such a positive contribution in my time at the club, but like most players he was waiting to see what other options he had and then, unfortunately for the lad, his injury ruled him out from signing with anyone. He is recovering well from his injury and we are keeping a close eye on his progress. He only started full contact training last week, so he needs a couple of weeks yet to get fully up to speed. We are have offered him a deal for the rest of the season for a number of reasons. He is a fierce competitor on the pitch, who brings a strong physical presence. He has a positive and lively personality that brings out the best in people around him. He has pace, power and was a great outlet for us last season to take the whole team up the pitch with his strong runs out of defence. Michael has signed until January 2016.
