After an initial hold up for to repair a hole in one of the nets play opened with “The Wasps” attacking the railway end of the ground. Paul Carrick had an immediate chance to put the home side in front but after ghosting in at the back post his shot sailed over the bar. Ex Cowdenbeath striker, Andrew Russell then had the first chance for the visitors, the opening goal came after 21 minutes when last season’s top goal scorer, Scott Hynd, showed once again how deadly he can be, cutting in from the right wing before firing low into the bottom far corner 1 -0.

In the second half Scott Hynd was again causing problems to Berwick Rangers, having scored the opening goal, he set up the second, his goal bound header was saved by Mark Walters in the visitors goal only for the alert Isaac Layne to bury the rebound with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
